Day breaks soft. 13 January 2017

Posted by Dr Moose in Life, Poetry.

Last night, as darkness fell,
Friday called, soft, from beyond
Horizon, promising snow in
Her pockets.

Morning light, and promise proved
False. Mere hint of frost,
Paltry. False.

Until fulness of light, and
Delight as day shook out
Her pockets. White, dense,
Confetti with attitude to
Welcome colleague,
Visitor, to prayer, quiet
To hill, altitude.
