Shock of the old… 29 May 2011

Posted by Dr Moose in Faith, Life, Music, Ponderings.

So in the last few days I’ve told the world (or at least my readership) of my love for my classic car (noisy, smelly, cramped uncomfortable death-trap that it is), my reservations of the continuing use of the Book of Common Prayer and now, another moment of disorientation in the form of an old tape cassette album of Martyn Joseph, “Treasure the Questions” from 1988 or so.

How could we be satisfied with the muddy, dull sound quality? Probably because we had little better. And you know what? Age may mean the sound quality is poor to the ears, but the message of the music… well, that shines through undimmed.  So thank you Martyn Joseph – still singing truths down the years, as ever.

Now, when are you going to do “Not far from Jerusalem” again? I’ve missed it!
