Another gem from David. Please contact me for details of his published poetry.

*Mother Julian’s Eve*

The first change in the weather has come.
Stiff winds have blown
blossom off the trees and
scattered it haphazardly,
with new leaves and litter,
along the hedgerows and pavements.

There is a chill
under the clear night sky,
and the dogs race for home,
walk and duty done.

Tomorrow God’s gathered friends
will bring cleansing
into a violated home, and
healing into abused lives,
as we plead Christ’s sacrifice
and his awesome victory.

The wind of the Spirit,
gift of the Father through the Son,
will blow where he wishes
in his usual unpredictable way.

But Satan’s worst will be
driven far away and
all shall be well.
